Summer camp in Somerset helps kids with diabetes thrive and connect
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — This week marks the annual summer camp organized by the American Diabetes Association in Somerset County. Known as ADA Camp Courage, the camp takes place at Camp Soles in Rockwood. Children aged 8 to 17 with diabetes spend several days and nights participating in typical summer camp activities like swimming and canoeing. In addition to recreation, they receive education about managing their diabetes from medical experts and find camaraderie with peers facing similar challenges.
