Mid-Season Championship night meant double features for all classes except for the overflowing Fisher Auto Parts Mini Stocks, sending a litany of winners to victory lane, some for the very first time.
Two awarded Springfield Rotary scholarships
SPRINGFIELD SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS: From right, Springfield Rotary Club President Debbie Cox and Scholarship Committee members Jim Fog, Bob Flint and Ed McQuaide flank this year’s Rotary Scholarship winners Springfield seniors Lily Farnsworth and Marshall Simpson, who were each awarded a $3,000 scholarship. Farnsworth will be attending Roger Williams to study architecture and Simpson will be at Wheaton College to pursue a degree in nursing. The scholarships were funded by proceeds from the Club’s annual Penny Sale, which will return this October.

Grafton teen found dead after dirt bike crash
Athens, VT- A Grafton teen was found dead on Thursday as a result of a dirt bike crash after being reported missing on Wednesday. Police say Ethan Whitten, 18, crashed his dirt bike down a hill off Brookline Road, near Valley Cemetery Road, in Athens. He was found around 2 p.m. Thursday and was pronounced dead at the scene.
