MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — An investigation into child sex abuse material has led to charges against a Mountain City man.

According to the Mountain City Police Department, a joint investigation with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) was launched in May after the department received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a user uploaded to the internet what appeared to be child sex abuse material.

The police department said the account holder was identified and a search warrant was executed on the home of Benjamin Porter, 32, of Mountain City, with assistance from HSI and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Porter was arrested by deputies on Thursday and charged with aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and resisting arrest, according to police.
