Three persons were injured — included a 2-year-old boy —  in an accident Saturday night just west of Mountain Grove on U.S. 60, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Tpr. Zayne Tate said a westbound 2022 Nissan Kicks driven by Gena D. Flores, 45, of Springfield, struck a deer in the roadway. Flores and two passengers were taken by ambulance to Cox South in Springfield. Her injuries were moderate and the other two had minor injuries, Homero Flores, 48, and the boy, 2, Tate said.

All were wearing seat belts. The vehicle had extensive damage.

Assisting at the scene were Cpl. Jacob Sellars and Tpr. Chad Johnson.
