HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. — Roughly four years after Deputy Ryan Hendrix died in the line of duty, Henderson County dedicated a bridge off of I-26 to honor his memory. Deputy Hendrix responded to an early morning car break-in call in 2020, where the suspect seemed to comply with officers before fatally shooting Hendrix in the face.
