77th Annual Southern Highland Craft Fair in Asheville
Asheville – A wide array of beautifully crafted hand-made items will be shown at the Southern Highland Craft Fair from Thursday, July 18th through Sunday, July 21st. It is a breath of fresh air to see these fine pieces, which have been made with incredible attention to detail. ASHEVILLE - Police have charged a second man with ethnic intimidation after an assault of three seminar attendees at the West Asheville Library June 29. Tyler Byrne Hackett Kelly, 33, faces one charge of misdemeanor ethnic intimidation "specifically for his actions" at the library, according to a July 18 news release from the Asheville Police Department.
Drug bust in Lenoir nets three arrests, police say
LENOIR, N.C. (WBTV) - Three people were arrested Tuesday after a drug bust in Lenoir, according to the Lenoir Police Department. According to police, investigators with the Lenoir Police Department, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office ICE Unit, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation have been investigating the sale and distribution of meth within the city limits of Lenoir and Caldwell County.
Doctor Shortage Part 1: SC patient says he’s been waiting a year for a surgery
GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - A major doctor shortage in the Carolinas is impacting patient health. Many are waiting several months or a year to get an appointment. According to data from the Association of American Medical Colleges, the doctor shortage is about twice as bad in the Carolinas and Georiga compared to some northern states. The Carolinas has around 200 active physicians per 100,000 residents. Massachusetts, Maryland, and New York have about 400 active physicians per 100,000 residents. Patients say this is taking a serious toll on their health.
