ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO/KNOX) – Governor Tim Walz has authorized the Minnesota National Guard to provide public safety support for the 2024 Republican National Convention. The convention will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from July 15 through July 18. It’s been designated as a national special security event by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security due to the scale of security operations required.
