    Christian County man killed in single-vehicle crash: Coroner

    MOWEAQUA, Ill. (WCIA) — A man from Moweaqua has died following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday night.

    The crash happened just west of Moweaqua on County Road 1900N. Moweaqua Fire Chief Ramiro Estrada told WCIA that just one car was involved and it left the road for unknown reasons. There was only one person in the car — 27-year-old Logan T. Gallagher of Moweaqua, according to Macon County Coroner Michael Day.

    Day added that Gallagher was taken from the scene of the accident to Decatur Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:14 p.m. Day added that Gallagher suffered severe internal trauma and multiple fractures in the crash.

    Routine toxicology testing and an inquest are pending.

    The Christian County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the investigation into the crash. They were on the scene along with the Moweaqua Fire and Police Departments, the Assumption Police Department and Echo Ambulance.

    WCIA reached out to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for more information and has not heard back yet.
