Quil Ceda Creek Casino Opens High-Limit Slots Room
TULALIP, WA – Quil Ceda Creek Casino has opened a new high-limit slots room, open seven days a week. Formerly occupied by The Landing restaurant and spanning 2,835 sq. ft., the space features 60 machines with a $500 maximum bet per spin. The high-limit slots room also features cocktails, wine and beer available from The Craft Bar along with a variety of food options.
Sohal Hotels Sells 117-Room Hotel in Marysville for $26.5MM
The Puget Sound region has seen another hotel property trade hands with the sale of La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Marysville. According to Snohomish County public records, the buyer was an entity affiliated with Jaye Enterprises Inc., and the seller was an entity affiliated with Sohal Hotels. The sales price was $26.5 million, or about $226,495 per room.
Bold Lynnwood Station artworks unveiled 17 days before Link opening
Excitement was palpable during Tuesday’s art unveiling for the Lynnwood Link light rail extension. Community members, Sound Transit employees and public officials buzzed around the center promenade as they took in the sights. Thanks were given to those who made the works a reality, including the Lynnwood Arts Commission and Sound Transit arts team as well as many individual contributors. Artists Claudia Fitch and Buster Simpson talked about the inspirations that brought their art to the light rail stations.

It’s all about community at Brier’s annual SeaScare Parade
The Brier SeaScare Porchlight Parade brought people together Wednesday evening along a quarter-mile stretch of Brier Road. The route began near Brier Library and ended at Brier Grocery. The parade’s grand marshal this year was Craig Harris, who has lived in Brier for 35 years. In fact, Harris came up with the idea of the SeaScare parade 22 years ago.

Everett’s Literary Legacy: The Historic Tale of the Everett Public Library’s Pegasus Bookmobile
In a time when gasoline was a novelty and libraries weren’t ubiquitous, a mechanical marvel emerged from the workshops of Everett, and it was about to introduce a brave new world (book pun intended) to the Snohomish Community. Aptly named Pegasus, this literary chariot, driven by the spirit of adventure, traveled throughout the region, extending library services to underserved and remote communities in this new frontier. This book-laden, mobile library in the form of a Ford Model T was a pioneer of its time, carrying more than just books but also a wealth of knowledge and the beauty of imagination. Though it only served early Everett residents for a little over two decades, in that short time, it quickly became a cherished staple in the Snohomish community, and still, it stands today, its story a testament to the unyielding power of the written word.
