    3 suspects returned to Marion County to face charges in man’s death

    MULLINS, S.C. (WBTW) — Three people arrested last week in the killing of a man at a party on Barnes Street in Mullins have been returned to Marion County to face charges.

    Shaquan Ahmad Champion, 23, Thomas Rashad Champion, 44, and Shaday Cash, 38, are charged in the death of Kenneth Lasane Jr. on June 23. They were arrested on June 25 after fleeing the state and booked into the Marion County Detention Center on Monday, according to online jail records.

    Shaquan Ahmad Champion, 23, who was arrested in Michigan, is charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. He was out of jail on bond on a separate attempted murder charge at the time of his arrest.

    Thomas Champion and Cash, who are relatives of Shaquan Champion, are charged with accessory after the factor to murder. They were arrested in Ohio with the use of Flock license plate reader technology, according to Mullins police .
