Board members vote to suspend Superintendent of the Mineral Springs School District
During last night’s Mineral Springs School Board regular monthly meeting, board member Dorothy Vaughn made a motion, seconded by Barnado Thomas, to suspend Superintendent Billy Lee from all his duties, school premises, and business dealings with the Mineral Springs School District indefinitely with pay, effective July 15, 2024. Mr. Lee will be contacted by the school lawyers regarding further instructions about school properties. Board members Xavier Vaughn and William Dixon voted in favor, while Ricky Gamble and Mike Erwin opposed. Board member Ray Hawkins was absent.

City attorney of Dierks files Freedom of Information request with North Howard County Rural Water Association
Last week, during the Dierks City Council meeting, city attorney Dustin Bissell informed the council members that he had filed a Freedom of Information request with the North Howard County Rural Water Association. He stated the water association had three-days in which to respond or the city could file a lawsuit in the Howard County Circuit Court.
