    Boy hit by gunfire off West Trinity Lane

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 12-year-old was injured in a shooting incident early Friday morning near West Trinity Lane.

    Officers responded after shots were fired outside a home on Matthews Court off West Trinity Lane around 2:15 a.m. on Friday, June 28.

    “The shooting appears to have been targeted but not toward the 12-year-old boy who was struck in the foot,” Metro police said, adding that the child was lying down inside the home when the incident occurred.

    Metro police reported the boy was taken to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, where his condition is unknown.

    Investigators are working to determine if a “shots fired” 911 call from nearby Old Matthews Road is linked to the gunfire.
