Muscle Shoals woman dead after late-night semi-truck crash

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. ( WHNT ) — A late-night car crash involving a semi-truck leaves one woman dead in Muscle Shoals.

Around 11:44 p.m., the Muscle Shoals Police Department and the Muscle Shoals Fire Department said they responded to an accident involving a semi-truck and a car.

The accident reportedly happened at the intersection of Second Street and Wilson Dam Highway.

31-year-old Indigo Fort was driving southbound on Wilson Dam Highway and was attempting to turn onto Second Street when she was hit by an oncoming Volvo semi-truck.

Sean Ivey, 28, was driving the semi-truck and was traveling northbound on Wilson Dam Highway.

After further investigation from the department, Fort was pronounced dead on the scene.

The police department says the wreck is currently under investigation.
