HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A man is facing several charges after allegedly charging two people with a box cutter, ramming his vehicle into another person’s and then leading Horry County police on a chase the next day, according to police records obtained by News13.

Dustin James Gregg, 42, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and battery, malicious injury to real property at more than $2,000 but less than $10,000 and resisting arrest. He was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Wednesday morning.

Horry County police responded at about 9 p.m. Tuesday to Harvester Circle for an assault, according to a police report. When they arrived, a woman told officers that Gregg had assaulted her friends and rammed his car into theirs.

The woman said her and Gregg got into an argument, and he accused her of cheating on him, the report said. When he was asked to leave, he refused and the woman called her friends for help.

When her friends arrived, one of them asked Gregg to leave, when he allegedly pulled out a box cutter and started approaching them, according to the report. One of the friends then punched Gregg in the face.

Gregg then went outside to his vehicle and accelerated into one of the friends’ vehicles, causing about $5,000 in damage, an arrest warrant shows.

The next day, Horry County police tried conducting a traffic stop on Gregg’s Chevrolet Tahoe for speeding, a police report shows. Gregg didn’t stop and led police on a brief chase on Carolina Forest Boulevard before he lost control of his vehicle and crashed. He was arrested after a brief foot chase.

As of this writing, online booking records show Gregg remained in jail on bonds totaling more than $17,000.
