    Suspect accused of shattering doors of Freeport Police Department has been arrested

    FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO) — Freeport Police have arrested a man accused of throwing a rock through the front doors of the police department building.

    According to police, Jerrell Williamson, 21, walked up to the building around 10:35 p.m. on Sunday, August 4th, and threw a rock through the glass doors, shattering them.

    He then walked back in the direction he came, in the area of Cherry Avenue and Exchange Street.

    An investigation identified Williamson as the suspect. He was arrested on Thursday, August 15th, and charged with Criminal Damage to State Supported Property.

    Under the provision of the pretrial fairness act, he was processed and released with a notice to appear at a future court date.
