    Rock County man backed out of driveway while drunk and caused ‘severe’ crash, police say

    LA PRAIRE, Wis. (WTVO) — A man faces a slew of drunk driving and drug charges after allegedly backing out of a driveway and causing a crash that left both cars severely damaged.

    According to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, around 7:57 p.m. on Friday, Reid backed out of a private driveway on E Hwy 14 and collided with a vehicle that was traveling eastbound. The occupants of that vehicle were transported to a local hospital for treatment of what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.

    Reid failed a field sobriety test and was arrested, police said.

    He was charged with 2nd offense Operating While Intoxicated, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, two counts of OWI 2nd Offense Causing Injury, Possession of Open Intoxicants, operating on a revoked license, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, Improper Turn, and Operate Left of Center.

    He was taken to the Rock County Jail and is due in court on Monday.
