Man in critical condition after aggravated assault, police searching for suspects
SMITH COUNTY, Texas — Deputies are investigating a shooting that left a 67-year-old man critically injured Wednesday morning.At approximately 6:30 a.m. on July 10, 2024, deputies responded to a shooting in the 20900 block of CR 4129 in northern Smith County. Upon arrival, they discovered Rogieys Simmons, 67, had been shot in the upper body while standing at the front door of his residence. According to the Smith County Sheriff's Office, Simmons had been in an argument with two male suspects, one white and one black, just before the shooting. The suspects fled in an unknown vehicle down CR 4129.Simmons was transported to UT Health Tyler by UT Health EMS and is currently undergoing surgery in critical condition. Smith County Investigators and the Crime Scene Unit are on the scene conducting their investigation.The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information or video footage to contact the Smith County Sheriff's Office at (903) 566-6600. Houston police investigate fatal shooting on Club Creek Drive
HOUSTON, Texas — Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 10000 Club Creek Drive late Tuesday night. The identity of the 34-year-old victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, according to a statement from the Houston Police Department (HPD).
