FORT WORTH, Texas - Fort Worth Police officers collaborated with Lake Worth Police to manage traffic and ensure public safety during a bomb threat incident on Tuesday.Lake Worth Police Department arrested 43-year-old Donald Scott, of Lake Worth, Texas, for making a terroristic threat and retaliation, both felonies. Scott, currently on federal probation for bank robbery with two prior convictions for unlawful carrying of a weapon, was tracked down after a parole officer reported he might be carrying explosives into Walmart. Authorities found campsite cookers in a bag he left at Ritchie Brothers store, which were rendered safe by Fort Worth Fire. Scott was arrested on Huffines Boulevard, and another bag he left near 3900 Boat Club Road was also safely mitigated, according to the Fort Worth Police Officers Association.
DART launches pilot program to test next-generation bus shelters
DALLAS, Texas — Bus riders in the Dallas area can now experience the new Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Next Generation Bus Shelters as part of a four-month pilot program. DART completed the installation of three versions of the new bus shelter prototypes at five bus stop locations across four cities on July 18. The transit agency partnered with Tolar Manufacturing, a leading bus shelter manufacturer in the United States, to create shelters based on feedback gathered from DART bus riders.

Perez began chatting with the supposed minor in March 2024.The arrest was a collaborative effort involving the Crime Suppression Unit, Criminal Investigation Division, Drone Team, and K-9 Bruno. TEXAS CITY, Texas — A Texas City man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for a sexual assault conviction, according to the Texas City Police Department. Fabian Richard Lewis, a 56-year-old, was arrested in December 2020 for sexual assault. Officers from the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigation Division, Identification Division, and the Digital Forensics Laboratory collaborated on the investigation. Lewis was found guilty by a jury on July 16, 2024, in the Galveston County 212th Judicial District Court.

Pedestrian fatally struck by pickup truck in Midlothian
MIDLOTHIAN, Texas - A 48-year-old man was pronounced dead after being struck by a pickup truck on East State Highway 287, according to the Midlothian Police Department.The incident occurred on July 25, 2024, at 12:21 PM when multiple 911 callers reported a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle. Responding officers found the man lying on the roadway and observed a gray Ford F-150 with significant front-end damage, indicative of a collision.Witnesses, including the driver of the F-150, stated that the pedestrian had been standing in the center median near the Midlothian Parkway bridge before suddenly jumping in front of the oncoming truck. Constables apprehend aggravated robbery suspects in Harris County

HOUSTON, Texas - Early on July 14, Houston police officers prevented a violent incident in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, according to a statement from the Houston Police Department.Officers working an extra job at a nightclub in the 6000 block of Beverly Hill Street witnessed multiple people involved in a physical altercation in a parking lot. Some individuals left the location and reconvened in another parking lot nearby.HPD Air Support officers in a helicopter located a suspect retrieving firearms and alerted Midwest Patrol Crime Suppression Team officers that the individuals were in a vehicle and returning to the scene of the fight. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and located four guns, including an assault rifle-style weapon inside the vehicle.Officers seized the weapons, detained the individuals, and consulted the Harris County District Attorney's office. As a result, three suspects were arrested and charged with unlawful carrying of weapons, according to the Houston Police Department.
