Search for two women in Wilkes-Barre investigation
WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they are looking to identify two women involved in a Wilkes-Barre investigation. The Wilkes-Barre City Detective Division is trying to identify the two women shown caught on security camera footage. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. James Conmy at 570-208-6775.
Murder-for-hire plot alleged in Luzerne County
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A Luzerne County businessman offered a prospective hitman thousands of dollars to commit murder, the county district attorney's office said. Dashawn William Nelson, 29, conspired to have a man killed in retaliation for shooting at Nelson's Wilkes-Barre business, according to a criminal complaint filed by county detectives. However, the would-be assassin instead cooperated with law enforcement.

WILKES-BARRE — A Plymouth woman who admitted to taking part in abandoning a malnourished pit bull puppy named Nova in Pittston was granted immediate parole Monday. Luzerne County Judge Joseph F. Sklarosky Jr. sentenced Shaniqwa Shantel Scott, 25, to seven-days to 15 months at the county correctional facility on a misdemeanor charge of cruelty to animals. Scott pled guilty to the offense on March 11.
