Man dies in Rutland jet ski accident
A 46-year-old Attleboro man died Saturday after his jet ski overturned in Turkey Hill Pond in Rutland, the Police Department said in a press release. Rutland police and firefighters went to the pond shortly before 4:30 p.m. after receiving a report that a man who had been operating a jet ski had disappeared under the water after appearing to be in distress.

New Hampshire governor signs bill banning transgender girls from girls' sports
Republican Gov. Chris Sununu of New Hampshire has signed a bill that would ban transgender athletes in grades 5-12 from teams that align with their gender identity, adding the state to nearly half in the nation that adopted similar measures.The bill passed by the Republican-led Legislature would require schools to designate all teams as either girls, boys or coed, with eligibility determined based on students' birth certificates "or other evidence." Police investigating serious crash involving pedestrian in Bedford
Police are investigating a serious crash involving a pedestrian in Bedford on Saturday. Bedford Police Chief John Fisher says the pedestrian crash happened around 4:00 p.m. on Concord Road. Concord Road was closed for around two and a half hours before reopening around 6:30 p.m. There was no immediate word on the condition of the pedestrian.

Woman killed in Fall River pedestrian crash remembered as giving woman of God as services announced
A 67-year-old Dartmouth woman killed after being struck by a box truck on Joseph Drive in Fall River is being remembered as services have been announced. According to Gregg Miliote of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, at around noon on Wednesday, two victims, the driver of the box truck, and three others were at 214 Joseph Drive to pick up a dresser. The six individuals were all employees or volunteers for the non-profit organization known as My Brother’s Keeper, which organizes drop offs and pick-ups of donated furniture.

A group of people gathered in downtown Stoughton, Massachusetts, on Saturday, demanding justice for Sandra Birchmore. Birchmore was three months pregnant when she was found dead in her Canton apartment in 2021. Her death was ruled a suicide at the time.
