Country music star Morgan Wallen was arrested on Sunday in Nashville, Tenn. for allegedly launching a chair off a downtown Broadway rooftop.

Several Metro Nashville police officers were standing outside Eric Church's six-story restaurant and bar called "Chiefs." Just before 11:00 p.m. Sunday night the chair fell from above and landed just feet from the officers.

Employees of the bar told police that the defendant identified as Wallen threw the chair from the top story.

According to the arrest affidavit, surveillance camera footage from the bar's rooftop showed Wallen "lunging" and "throwing an object over the roof."

Witnesses said that Wallen laughed after hurling the chair.

Wallen is facing three counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.  These charges could result in a class E felony in Tennessee.  The charges stemmed from the fact that the chair landed so close to the police officers and for the "danger to the public." He is also facing one count of disorderly conduct.

Wallen's bond was set at $15,250 and he has a court date on May 3.

Wallen's attorney, Worrick Robinson, confirmed the arrest and issued a statement.

"At 10:53 p.m. Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities."

Wallen had been nominated for a CMT's Best Male Video of the Year.  The awards show as broadcast live from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas on Sunday.  Wallen apparently did not attend.  Jelly Roll won the award.
