    OBITUARY: Joseph ‘Jody’ Sterling Earhart III

    It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph “Jody” Sterling Earhart III, on July 12, 2024.

    Jody was a remarkable man who touched the lives of many. Jody was a loving husband, a devoted father, a cherished grandfather, and a loyal friend. He was a highly educated individual with a vast array of skills and talents, truly a jack of all trades.

    Jody entered the world in Nashville, Tennessee on February 4, 1967, as the beloved child of Joseph and Sandra Earhart. His legacy will endure in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.

    Jody was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.S “Bud” Earhart and Ruth Seiner Earhart, and Alvin H. Seaborn and Oleta Kelley Seaborn; and his Uncle, Gary Wayne Seaborn.

    He is survived by his parents, Joseph Sterling Earhart Jr. and Sandra Seaborn Earhart; his brother, Jason Earhart (Annie); his loving wife, childhood friend, highschool sweetheart, Lori Earhart; his children, Tristan Hunter Earhart (Desiree), Taylor Modesitt (Clark), Tori Cooper (Spencer), and Jordan Beaulieu; his grandchildren, Callen, Sutton, Noa Kate, and Manning; his two nieces, Abbie Murrian and Allie Earhart; his beloved four-legged companions, Lucy, Jax, and Tito; and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

    Jody embodied a multifaceted spirit. He was diligent and exceptionally well-educated, earning his bachelor’s degree and pursuing his master’s degree. He had a great passion for the outdoors, indulging in activities such as hunting, fishing, and sports. Furthermore, he held the esteemed position of Vice President at his family’s company, Earhart Plumbing. Jody had a deep passion for the outdoors, finding solace in the art of hunting and fishing.

    His love for UT sports, particularly football and baseball, was unwavering, and he never missed an opportunity to cheer for his favorite teams. A sports enthusiast himself, Jody had actively participated in various sports for many years. His kind and generous spirit knew no bounds, and he was adored by all who knew him. Jody’s absence will be profoundly felt, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and loved ones.

    Jody’s legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering strength will continue to inspire us. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all.

    The services to honor Jody will take place at Sellars Funeral in Mount Juliet, located at 2229 N Mount Juliet Road. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Another visitation will occur on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., followed by a memorial service. https://www.sellarsfh.com
