Tennessee Titans QB Will Levis Earns Ominous Prediction For 2024

With the No. 33 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected quarterback Will Levis. When he was thrust into the starting lineup as a rookie, he took over under some tough circumstances.

The franchise was retooling with Ran Carthon coming over from the San Francisco 49ers and taking over the front office. That led to some overture on the roster, as Carthon was beginning to reshape things in his own image.

As a result, the Tennessee Titans were relatively understaffed in some positions. This offseason, the purge of veterans from the previous regime continued.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill remains a free agent and running back Derrick Henry departed, signing with the Baltimore Ravens. But, the Tennessee Titans did do a good job of upgrading the talent around Will Levis.

Running back Tony Pollard was poached from the Dallas Cowboys. Wide receivers Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd were signed in free agency to upgrade the weapons in the passing game.

With their first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected Alabama tackle JC Latham to upgrade the offensive line. In free agency, Lloyd Cushenberry, Geron Christian, and Saahdiq Charles were signed.

It is clear that Tennessee Titans brass was making a concerted effort to upgrade the team’s supporting cast around Will Levis. Alas, some analysts don’t believe that will be enough.

One of those analysts is David Kenyon of Bleacher Report . He recently put together a piece predicting one player from every NFL team who will be a bust in 2024. For the Tennessee Titans, his selection was Will Levis.

“I greatly respect the team’s effort to put a better supporting cast around Will Levis, who’s approaching his first year as the full-time starter. I’m simply not sold on him.

Inefficiency and general inconsistency plagued Levis both in college and during his debut season with the Titans, and bringing in Ridley and Tyler Boyd—while admirable—doesn’t solve Levis’ week-to-week differences,” Kenyon wrote.

It will certainly be interesting to see the improvements Will Levis makes from Year 1 to Year 2. Player personnel was upgraded, but as was the coaching staff from an offensive standpoint.

Mike Vrabel was excellent for what the Tennessee Titans needed the past few years. His defensive background with a grind-it-out, hard-nosed offensive approach with the ground game was a fit with Henry.

But, with things not being turned over to Will Levis, an offensive-minded coach made sense. The Tennessee Titans landed one, hiring Brian Callahan away from the Cincinnati Bengals, where he has been the offensive coordinator for Joe Burrow and company.
