    ‘Give me everything you got’: Suspect accused of robbing man in broad daylight at Centennial Park

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities have arrested a suspect accused of robbing a man at gunpoint at a Nashville park in broad daylight.

    According to court documents, the incident took place just before 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16 at Centennial Park.

    The victim told police that a man approached him, pointed a gun in his chest, and said “give me everything you’ve got.” He added that the suspect also struck him in the head and knocked him to the ground.

    Once on the ground, the victim reportedly told officers that the suspect went into his pockets and grabbed some cash before fleeing the area.

    The victim was able to provide a description of the suspect, stating that he had a slender build and was wearing a football jersey, black baseball cap, and sunglasses, according to an arrest report.

    Police said they also spoke with a witness who said they saw the suspect run toward the Parthenon Towers on 28th Avenue North after the robbery.

    During the course of the investigation, police reviewed surveillance cameras, which allegedly captured a man matching the description entering a unit at the Parthenon Towers at approximately 1:17 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16.

    According to officials, the occupants inside the apartment refused to answer when police knocked on the door. After obtaining a search warrant, officers were able to locate 49-year-old Kenya Lewis inside the unit.

    Police reported they confirmed that he was the suspect observed on video. Inside the unit, officers reportedly found the clothes that were worn during the robbery and cash that belonged to the victim.

    Lewis was taken into custody and charged with felony aggravated robbery with a weapon. He is being held in Metro Jail on a $80,000 bond.
