Gotta think those DMs are a disaster right now. Haliey Welch is doing her best to navigate life as a public figure after the "Hawk Tuah" girl went insanely viral for a man-on-the-street style interview that she gave in Nashville. Of course you've seen it by now, but if you're somehow reading this after just now waking up from a monthlong coma, Welch was asked her advice on pleasing a man in bed, and her answer made her a viral sensation:
"You gotta give him that hawk tuah, spit on that thang." Since being posted, the interview has racked up millions and millions of views on social media, spawned thousands of memes and jokes, and even inspired countless AI-generated songs. While she originally kept a low profile after going viral, Miss Hawk has since been identified as 21-year old Haliey Welch from Belfast, Tennessee. And she's ready to capitalize on her viral fame, not only signing a manager and PR team but appearing with Zach Bryan on stage in Nashville and partying with Shaq at Bon Jovi's new bar. Welch has since quit her job at a local spring factory ( dispelling myths that she was fired from her job as a teacher ), and no doubt has countless opportunities flying at her left and right. She's even turned down offers from Playboy, and denied that she would be starting an OnlyFans. It's not entirely clear what Welch plans to do with her newfound fame, though she recently made a reported $30k for a weekend of appearances in New York City, and her manager has said that there's potentially a reality TV show in the works. But along with the opportunity comes...well, a lot of creepy DMs. TMZ recently caught up with Welch and asked her what her DMs look like now that she went viral, and as you can expect, it sounds like they're pretty bad. Welch said the messages she's been getting are "kind of creepy," but says that people keep asking for one thing in particular: "Toes. They want pictures of my toes." Honestly, that's not as bad as I was expecting. For someone who became famous for a blowjob joke, I figured people were sending her a lot worse than requests for feet pics. Maybe we're finally turning the corner as a society. (We're not, but hey, I'm an optimist). But still, Welch says she has no interest in sending anybody pictures of her toes. So if you were thinking about sliding into her DMs to ask for some feet pics, 1) what's wrong with you, but 2) it ain't happening.
