Bad news for Tennessee Titans fans who want more Oilers throwbacks in 2024

The Tennessee Titans finally brought back their Houston Oilers throwbacks in 2023 and wore the legendary jerseys for two games last season, once against the Houston Texans and once against the Atlanta Falcons.

However, according to "The Voice of the Titans" Mike Keith on the Official Titans Podcast, things will be a bit different in 2024, as the Titans will only wear their throwbacks once, which will come in Week 18 against the Texans in Nashville.

"Because we're not wearing Oilers until Week 18," Keith revealed.

While that definitely stinks, at least we'll get to see Texans fans and the national media lose their collective minds over the fact that the Titans are not only wearing them, but doing so against a team from Houston.

Unfortunately, the Texans got the last laugh in 2023 after beating the Titans 19-16 in overtime in Week 15 while Tennessee rocked the Oilers throwbacks. Houston then went on to beat the Titans in Week 17 in Houston, also.

Despite the outcome, it was quite clear that the wife of Texans owner Cal McNair, Hannah, was very salty over the situation following the season.

“I think Houston liked that (Week 15) game a lot,” she said . “Especially winning that game there while (the Titans) were wearing something that Houston takes a lot of pride in. And, you know, Tennessee doesn’t care as much. It’s not as meaningful to their fans as we saw in a survey 20 or so years ago when they did change to the Titans. The Oilers didn’t mean as much to the Titans fans. So to win there meant a lot to Houston as they were shoving that in our face.”

If nothing else, Titans fans will be able to enjoy bathing in the tears of Hannah and everyone else who has an issue with Tennessee wearing the throwbacks that are rightfully theirs.
