Tennessee Titans get no love in NFL analyst's 2024 record predictions

As is typically the case, the national media doesn't have much faith in the Tennessee Titans going into the 2024 season, and we saw another example of that in one NFL analyst's recent record predictions.

Granted, it's a bit more understandable this season than it was during the Titans' run from 2019-21, when the team was routinely underrated. The Titans have a new head coach, several new players, and a young quarterback in Will Levis who has to prove he belongs.

Even still, it's logical to believe the Titans will finish with at least one more win than they did in 2023, when they had a far less talented roster. However, USA TODAY's Nate Davis doesn't see it that way, with the analyst predicting Tennessee to go 6-11 once again and finish in last place in the AFC South.

For a team brining in a first-time head coach (Callahan) while purging cornerstones Henry and QB Ryan Tannehill, the Titans' freewheeling offseason spending seemed a bit unusual. And while it makes sense to juice the offensive menu with more targets (WRs Calvin Ridley and Boyd, RB Tony Pollard) for second-year QB Will Levis and the passing game Callahan is known for, it remains to be seen if this approach is sustainable over the long term. Regardless, while a playoff return might be a stretch in 2024, the Titans have too much talent to be anyone’s patsy.

As far as the rest of the division goes, Davis shockingly has the Indianapolis Colts , not the Houston Texans , winning the division with an 11-6 mark. Not only that, he puts Houston in third place at 9-8, with the Jacksonville Jaguars finishing as the division's runner-up at 10-7.

Our prediction is that the Titans will find at least two more wins than what Davis has them with, which should be good enough to avoid finishing in the cellar once again. We also have the Texans finishing in first place, unfortunately.
