A recent feature on former Tennessee Titans and current Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry stated that the Titans had a deal in place with the Ravens to trade the star running back during the 2023 campaign.

According to Dan Pompei of The Athletic , Baltimore offered Tennessee a fourth-round pick that could have become a third for Henry ahead of the 2023 trade deadline, but the deal was nixed by higher-ups.

When asked about that on Tuesday when the Titans reported for training camp, general manager Ran Carthon denied it happened.

"No, I wasn't (offered that trade)," Carthon said . "I don't know where that came from, that's not my concern. We had multiple teams call about Derrick and offer something that wasn't worth taking, worth even considering, and I communicated that with Derrick during that time.

"But, no, we never agreed with anybody to do anything to move anybody."

That rumor caused quite the stir at the time, as no shortage of Titans fans thought the team should trade Henry during the 2023 season when it was clear Tennessee wasn't going anywhere. Instead, Henry played out his final season in Nashville.

Earlier this offseason, Henry signed a two-year, $16 million deal with Baltimore. The Titans signed Tony Pollard in free agency and he's expected to share the load with Tyjae Spears in Tennessee's backfield.
