The Tennessee Titans reported to training camp, on Tuesday. To kick off the long-awaited training camp General Manager Ran Carthon , head coach Brian Callahan , and Assistant General Manager Anthony Robinson spoke to the media.

Callahan set the table for what's to come in the first week of camp, which included an update on the Titans dealing with injuries. The small group of players managing some bumps and bruises includes right tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere.

Petit-Frere's 2023 campaign started late and finished early. The 2022 third-round pick missed the first five games of the season due to a gambling suspension and played in just three games before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Nov. 2.

Callahan explained that while Petit-Frere's shoulder has healed, he's working his way back from a clean-up procedure on his knee.

"NPF will be on the Active-PUP, which will be a couple of days as we start," Callahan revealed. "His injury is not related to his shoulder. His shoulder has been cleared. He had a clean-up surgery in the offseason after the first couple weeks of our offseason program."

As far as Petit-Frere's timeline goes, Callahan told reporters that the Ohio State product "should be good in a few days."

Players on the physically unable to perform list can be moved at any time, but if a player lands on the PUP list a second time their season is effectively over.

Petit-Frere's availability in training camp will be critical for the Titans. Entering his third season in the NFL, Petit-Frere needs to make a jump under offensive line coach Bill Callahan in order for Tennessee to feel comfortable with him starting at right tackle.

The Titans' depth at right tackle is mediocre at best, with John Ojukwu, Jaelyn Duncan, and Leroy Watson combining for just eight career starts. If Petit-Frere can make a quick return and take a step forward in his development, quarterback Will Levis would benefit greatly with a newfound sense of security.
