The Tennessee Titans are about to get a big piece of their defense back. Following Saturday's practice at Nissan Stadium, head coach Brian Callahan noted that the team expects outside linebacker Harold Landry to return this coming week, according to Jim Wyatt of Titans Online .

Landry has been absent from training camp due to an illness.

"(He) should be ready to go by next week," Callahan said. "Any time you have an illness of the type where you're losing a lot of weight, you're just making sure we're getting back and don't want to put him in harm's way."

Landry, who missed all of the 2022 season recovering from a torn ACL, returned to form last year. The 28-year-old recorded 70 tackles and 10.5 sacks and led the team in tackles for loss (14) and quarterback hits (21). Landry played in all 17 games but made starts in only ten.

Another year removed from the knee injury, the Boston College product is expected to be a big piece of defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson's aggressive scheme this coming season.

With Landry set to return, the Titans have been relatively healthy in camp thus far.

Wide receiver Calvin Ridley was dealing with an ankle injury in last Saturday's practice at Nissan Stadium but was able to return. Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie is expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks with a calf injury.

This week's set of practices should be telling regarding Landry's potential availability for next Saturday's exhibition game against the San Francisco 49ers.
