2 Predators Are Among Best Active British Columbian-Born Players in NHL

The province of British Columbia has produced a lot of great talent in the NHL, former and active. Among the best active British Columbian-born players are two current Nashville Predators, Colton Sissons and Dante Fabbro. They may not be the cream of the crop, but are still effective NHLers and would make a team made up of players from this province.
Sissons will play somewhere in the middle-6 for the Predators next season, likely down the middle, whether that be with Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault on the second line or as a formidable third line shutdown piece.
Among active British Columbian-born players, Sissons has the 15th most points with 200 in 618 games. He is slightly behind Danton Heinen's 212 points and just ahead of Brenden Dillon's 196 points. Sissons isn't known for his scoring even though last season he tied a career high of 15 goals and set a career high in points with 35.
Sissons has received Selke Trophy votes twice in his career and averaged the most ice time in his career in 2023-24 as well with 16:34. He's physical, is very relied upon in the faceoff circle, and played 167 minutes on both the penalty kill and power play last season for the Predators. Any team would be fortunate to have a veteran that does so much and flies under the radar.
Fabbro on the other hand may not be getting the chance he still deserves in the NHL because of the number of bodies fighting for spots in Nashville, but next season could be the year he turns things around. He could play top pairing minutes and regain the form he had alongside Roman Josi in the past, or sink to the bottom pairing or as a healthy scratch at times like he did in 2023-24.

Fabbro is arguably the best active right-shot defenseman born in British Columbia, with other top d-men being Morgan Rielly, Devon Toews, Shea Theodore, Bowen Byram and Dillon. We shall see where Fabbro is played and what he can do with probably his last chance in Nashville in 2024-25.
One other British Columbian-born player to mention is Tyson Barrie. Since the Predators are not signing him, he is considered a former player. Either way, he has the third-most points from a d-man born in British Columbia all-time behind Shea Weber and Doug Bodger with 505 points in 809 games. Nashville wasn't the right situation for Barrie and he may still be signed to a team he can play his role more effectively on.
