Wildfire likely caused by lighting extinguished on Casper Mountain on Sunday
CASPER, Wyo. — A small wildfire located in the same area as the 2012 Sheep Herder Fire was extinguished over the weekend. According to a social media post from the Casper Mountain Fire District, the fire was likely caused by a lighting strike that had smoldered for a couple of days before it actively started to burn.
