    Man found guilty of aggravated battery from 2021 incident in Santa Rosa County: Reports

    SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. ( WKRG ) — A man is awaiting sentencing after he was found guilty of aggravated battery, according to the Office of the State Attorney First Judicial Circuit of Florida.

    State Attorney for the First Judicial Circuit of Florida Ginger Bowden Madden announced the conviction after a jury trial on June 28 found 53-year-old Brian Scott Sanders guilty of aggravated battery on a victim 65 years of age or older with great bodily harm and battery.

    The charges come from an incident on May 15, 2021, at Stripes in Navarre, Florida. During the incident, the defendant and members of a motorcycle club reportedly attacked a local man who received “multiple subdural hematomas and facial lacerations” from the attack.

    Sanders will have a sentencing hearing conducted by the Honorable Clifton Drake on Sept. 5, 2024.
