COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) – A woman who did not have custodial rights to her three children was arrested two weeks after she allegedly took them nearly 600 miles away from their west Columbus home.

According to court documents, on Aug. 3 Rebekkah Parham went to the Wedgewood Apartments in the Holly Hill neighborhood, to the home of her ex-husband, who has sole custody of their three children. Parham allegedly got one of her children to open the door and persuaded all three of them to leave in the car with her.

Parham, who has no visitation rights according to court records, then reportedly took them out of Ohio and drove nearly 600 miles southwest to Memphis. A warrant was issued for her arrest on Aug. 4 and she was taken into custody in Columbus on Aug. 17.

A Franklin County Municipal judge issued Parham, who is charged with three counts each of kidnapping and interference with custody, a $50,000 bond. Her next scheduled court appearance is Aug. 27 for a preliminary hearing.
