COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) — The Columbus Recreation and Parks department is asking for community help in shaping its future. Right now they are working on a 10-year vision plan known as Playbook Columbus.

“We’re looking for input from people in the community who utilize these parks, these programs, these playgrounds and spaces so that we can be able to make sure that we are aligning our mission to the needs of the community,” said Dominique Shank, Community Relations Chief for Columbus Recreation and Parks.

The survey allows you to make suggestions from how far you are willing to travel for these amenities, what improvements need made and what programs you would like to see some more of. “It’s very thorough and we want to be able to make sure we’ve touched every point possible,” said Shank.

She says she is most interested to see what the community thinks of the pools in the area. “We did an aquatics master plan about 2 years ago and I’m really interested to see what the community has to say about how our pools are doing,” she said.

The survey will be open until September 30. After that, Shank says the final planning begins. “Once the survey results are gathered, we would probably pull that information together and plan based on the survey. There will probably be 10 big plans over the next 10 years that we will execute based off of the feedback,” she said.

You can find the survey here.
