Joselyn Jhoana Toaquiza, a recent 21-year-old, was allegedly killed by Jhon Moises Chacaguasay-Ilbis, a 21-year-old from Ecuador whom she had known since childhood. Surveillance footage captured the pair entering an Airbnb together, but only Chacaguasay-Ilbis emerged later carrying Toaquiza’s lifeless body. Toaquiza had fled Ecuador to escape an abusive relationship, making her tragic death even more heart-wrenching for investigators and the community.

PERU, Neb. (WOWT) - A Nebraska shooting suspect was convicted of one charge but found “not guilty” of several others in court Tuesday. A jury found Guadalupe DeLaCruz, 60, not guilty of 11 separate charges — including first-degree assault and child abuse — filed against him in relation to a 2022 shooting incident in Peru, Neb. DeLaCruz was found guilty of one count carrying a concealed weapon.
