Neenah Animal Shelter Cuts Ribbon on New Facility
NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — It’s being called a milestone for the community. “This is excitement. It’s relief that it’s finally here, and in some ways, it’s like, pinch me that it’s real. That after all this time, we have worked so hard,” said Mary Setton, Neenah Animal Shelter board president.
Pool at Kaukauna's renovated aquatic center to open Wednesday
KAUKAUNA (WLUK) -- 'Tis the sea-sun for swimming, and come Wednesday, the Kaukauna community can finally do so at its newly-renovated aquatic center. According to a Facebook post Tuesday from the Kaukauna Recreation Department, the pool at the Kaukauna Aquatic Center will open to guests Wednesday. It comes a few days after the splash pad opened.
Oshkosh's Menominee Park fully reopens after archaeological work finishes
OSHKOSH (WLUK) -- Menominee Park's Pratt Trail has fully reopened to the public -- with the remains of a Native American village preserved underneath. The road had been closed since last August when archaeological items of significance were found during construction. The city of Oshkosh worked with University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee experts and representatives of local tribal nations to make sure the work complied with state laws aimed at protecting historical sites.
Rose bush in Kaukauna holds over 1200 roses, 350 in bloom
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Eyes are being drawn to a yard in Kaukauna this week, hosting a rose bush that the owner says has over 1,200 roses on it. Marv Hieppas said that he originally got the roses from a neighbor, and he realized that the flowers were growing at a rapid pace. After further care of the bush, Hieppas said that the amount of roses continued to expand into the thousands.
