Missouri Valley baseball meshing young talent with senior leadership
(Missouri Valley) -- A lineup of three seniors and six underclassmen has made up the 2024 Missouri Valley baseball squad. The Big Reds have combined their experienced trio and youthful talent to post an 8-13 record with one regular-season game remaining. Their wins have come over MVAOCOU, Red Oak, Audubon (twice), AHSTW, Riverside (twice) and IKM-Manning. However, they're currently on a four-game losing streak with recent defeats at the hands of AHSTW. Tri-Center, Treynor and Westwood.
UI art professor and students cross the state on hand-built bikes
Editor’s note: For six days at the beginning of June, The Daily Iowan photojournalist Jordan Barry participated in a bike tour with University of Iowa Art School professor Steve McGuire and his students as they biked from Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Muscatine, Iowa. McGuire and his students rode bikes they put together in his Hand Built Bike classes 490 miles across the state, averaging 83 miles per day, from the Missouri River to the Mississippi River. This piece is written in a first-person perspective to provide a more intimate account of the story.
