Former Edison Police Officer Sentenced to 15 Years in State Prison for Vehicular Homicide
EDISON, NJ - A former Edison Police Officer has been sentenced to 15 years in state prison on two counts of first degree Vehicular Homicide, according to Somerset County Prosecutor's Amitoj Oberoi, age 30, pleaded guilty to these charges in June On August 27, 2023, at about 6:22 AM, prosecutors say that Oberoi was traveling on Route 27 while intoxicated. The car crashed, resulting in the death of Carlos Perez-Gaytan, age 24, from Somerset, and Victor Cabrera-Francisco, age 20, from North Brunswick.
