TCNJ to provide room and board to local community college students
EWING — Come the fall semester, the housing situation at The College of New Jersey will be different than ever before. TCNJ and Mercer County Community College have worked out a deal where TCNJ will provide room and board to its students, according to a release from MCCC. The partnership “for the Fall 2024 semester and beyond” will also offer MCCC students special rates for the accommodation.

A 14-year-old was seriously injured while riding a bike after being struck by a car Saturday night in Mercer County, authorities said. The East Windsor Police Department responded to a reported collision around 9:30 p.m. involving a pickup truck and bicyclist near Twin Rivers Drive North and Ithaca Place, said East Windsor Police Department Lt. Thomas Meyer.

Additional charges filed against Ex-Wall High School teacher
FREEHOLD — Former Wall High School teacher Julie Rizzitello will return to court next Tuesday to face charges related to a sexual relationship she is accused of having with her former student after she was brought up on two new charges when she appeared in court today. Rizzitello, 36, of Brick Township, who resigned from her teaching position before her arrest, was charged with two counts of sexual assault, witness tampering and three counts of criminal sexual contact when arrested at her home by Wall Township Police on July 3.
FBI raid of Mayor Adams official uncovers illegal construction
An FBI raid of KSK Construction tied to NYC Mayor Eric Adams uncovered an illegal residential project in the East Village, Gothamist reported. KSK failed to obtain permits for the 12-story project at 280 East Houston St. to begin the above-ground work on the project. The city’s buildings department told Gothamist it did not notice the oversight until the publication inquired about it last month. By then, the 157-unit project already had five stories built.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey’s casinos saw their sports betting revenue decline by nearly 24% in June, and sports betting revenue overall in the state declined by 9.5%, according to figures released Tuesday by state gambling regulators. The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement reported that the nine casinos collectively saw their sports betting revenue decline by 23.9% in June compared with a year earlier. When the three horse tracks that take sports bets are included, the overall decline in such revenue for the state was 9.5%. Total gambling revenue in the state, including internet gambling and money won from in-person gamblers, was $491 million, up 7.4%.
