    Neptune Police Arrest Car Theft Suspect Following Break-In

    The Neptune Township Police Department has arrested Jason Deneault, 19, of with a last known address of Hampton, N.J., for suspected car theft and burglary committed in Neptune.

    NEPTUNE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Jason Deneault, 19, with a last known address of Hampton, N.J., was arrested for suspected car theft and burglary on July 25.

    The arrest was made by Neptune Police Detective Sergeant Frank Maletto and Detective Owen Rosenthal while Deneault was walking in the area of State Highway 33 and 35 in Neptune.

    Police were alerted to a vehicle that was stolen from the 200 Block of Fisher Avenue and a report of a second commercial vehicle that was burglarized on State Highway 35 in the area of Olden Avenue on July 24.

    Following a thorough investigation, Police identified Daneault as a suspect in both crimes.

    Neptune Township detectives and other police personnel set up surveillance and were able to locate Daneault the following day in the area in which he was arrested.

    After compiling video evidence and conducting interviews, Daneault was ultimately charged with theft of a motor vehicle, burglary, theft, criminal mischief and possession of burglar's tools.

    Daneault additionally had active bench warrants for his arrest from the Asbury Park Municipal Court.

    He was later transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a detention hearing in accordance with bail reform.

    The Neptune Twp. Police Department encourages residents to remain vigilant in protecting property by keeping items of value out of sight and locking vehicles at all times. Officers also remind residents that if they "See something, to say something."
