Metro Councilmembers give away portable AC units to families in need
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Several Metro Councilmembers came together to give out portable AC units to low-income residents who are living without air conditioning. District 21 Metro Councilwoman Betsy Ruhe started the project after the death of 17-year-old Christian Ruhekenya last summer. Christian died from carbon monoxide poisoning after going to sleep in a car when his family’s air conditioning went out.
Stay Well 5K/10K was a success
To kick off the Fourth of July festivities in Campbellsville, runners of all kinds came Saturday to Main Street for a 5K/10K presented by Hometown Pharmacy. This event was created to promote health and wellness in the community by getting people to be more active and to exercise. Runners were given the option of doing a 5K around Main Street and back, or a 10K which was a double loop around the same area.
