NJ man who kidnapped, raped ex-girlfriend gets 40 years
DOVER — A convicted rapist who trapped his ex-girlfriend will spend at least the next three decades in prison. Jesse Meneses, 38, of Dover was sentenced to 40 years in state prison on Friday, according to Morris County Acting Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood. He will not be eligible for parole until 2056 and must also register as a sex offender under Megan's Law.
Dover Police Apprehend Driver After Hit-and-Run and Open Container Violation
DOVER — Mr. Victor Romerro Aleman, 44, of Dover, was driving a 2014 Ram R25 on Saturday, June 15, at 12:05 a.m., when he exited the parking lot of 112 East Blackwell Street and struck a parked 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse. After the collision, Mr. Aleman fled the scene but was later located on River Street. Mr. Aleman, who was unlicensed and under the influence of alcohol, was apprehended by Dover Township Police Officer Errick Williams.

Fire Contained at Orchard Street Residence in Bernardsville
BERNARDSVILLE, NJ – On Thursday, June 27, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Bernardsville Police Department responded to a report of a smoke condition at a home on Orchard Street. The Bernardsville Fire Company was also dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, first responders confirmed an active fire on the first floor of the residence. Vandal damages Montville field with truck, police seek public’s help
MONTVILLE — Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a driver who damaged a town-owned field by performing “donuts” with their vehicle on June 22. The incident occurred at 7:40 p.m. when the operator of a small maroon pickup truck, believed to be either a Toyota Tacoma double cab (2005-2015 model) or a Toyota Tundra (2003-2007 model), drove onto the field and caused multiple ruts.
