Wealthy suburbs: These are the richest counties in NJ
The Northeast is home to 23 of the 50 wealthiest suburbs in the nation, according to an analysis released in July by a personal finance website. The Garden State is represented five times on the list from GOBankingRates, which looked at all cities with 5,000 or more households and isolated the 50 cities with the highest average household income. The platform used 2024 home values and metro area location to determine the wealthiest suburbs.

Big box store shopping in New Jersey just got smaller
In an ever ugly and sad trend another big box store announced that they are closing a chunk of their stores and trying to reorganize to stay above drowning in debt. National discount retailer Big Lots, with close to 1,400 stores nationally including twenty-seven in Monmouth and Ocean counties here in New Jersey, has announced that they are closing up to forty stores nationally and opening three more. Big Lots closed fifty-two stores in 2023 due to inferior performance.

Brick Lane Curry House announced via social media on Monday its Montclair outpost will shutter for good on July 21. The eatery, located at 540 Valley Rd. in the Upper Montclair business district, was beloved for its British-style curries and became a staple of the highly competitive Montclair dining scene. It was recently named among the 11 best restaurants in Montclair by NJ.com.
