Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – The man who struck and killed two Nevada State Police troopers, then fled the scene before being captured, learned his sentence Tuesday.

A judge sentenced Jemarcus Williams to 16 to 40 behind bars.
Williams had previously pled guilty two counts of felony DUI Resulting in Death. He faced a possible maximum sentence of 40 years.

Police say Williams was driving drunk in the early morning hours of November 30th when he struck Sergeant Michael Abate and Trooper Alberton Felix on the Washington exit from 15 North. The pair had stopped to investigate a driver who had passed out behind the wheel on that exit ramp.

Williams immediately left the scene, but was found at his home a short time later.
