(EAU CLAIRE PUBLIC SCHOOL’S FOUNDATION PRESS RELEASE) - The Eau Claire Public Schools Foundation (ECPSF) is pleased to announce the selection of Kelly Christianson as its new Executive Director effective July 29, 2024. Christianson brings a wealth of experience in non-profit management and community involvement, having most recently served as the Lead Community Impact Director at the United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley. Christianson succeeds Todd Johnson, Executive Director.

Man suspected of providing drugs in overdose death appears in court
CHIPPEWA FALLS — A Holcombe man charged with providing drugs that resulted in a fatal overdose appeared in court Monday. Casey C. Schueneman, 43, 25120 260th Ave., and Crystal K. Crouse, 36, of Conrath, were each charged in April in Chippewa County Court with first-degree reckless homicide — party to a crime, along with bail jumping. Schueneman’s charge specifically included delivery of drugs; Crouse’s charge does not have that provision. She is slated to return to court on July 31. ...

Viroqua man injured after car runs intersection, into parking lot of area business
VIROQUA, Wis. – Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson reports a single-vehicle crash occurred early Sunday morning, July 14, 2024, in rural Viroqua, in the town of Viroqua. The Sheriff’s Office says at approximately 2:00 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office 911 Dispatch Center was notified of the crash. The Sheriff’s report states that Colton William Anderson, 20, of rural Viroqua, was driving south on State Highway 82 and went through the intersection of State Highway 56 and crossed both the west and eastbound lanes. The vehicle then went off the south side of Highway 56, traveled down an embankment into the parking lot of Sheldon’s Auto Wrecking and struck a fence and a gate.
