Macomb County Voters Select Sheriff, County Clerk and Probate Judge
Macomb county voters on Aug. 6 will vote on primary candidates for County Sheriff, County Clerk and Probate Judge. Budnick, a Hamtramck police officer from Macomb Township, supports enforcing laws against people preying on seniors and believes every school in Macomb County needs to have at least one armed officer on-site. He supports working with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to turn over “illegal aliens” encountered in the county; recruiting and retaining sheriff’s office employees by boosting morale, restoring benefits and improving wages; and deploying more deputies to patrol neighborhoods and roads.

Chippewa Valley puts non-homestead millage up for renewal
CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Voters in the Chippewa Valley school district will soon be tasked with determining whether a key revenue source will be allowed to continue. Chippewa Valley Schools has placed a proposal on the Aug. 6 primary election ballot asking voters to allow the district to renew its non-homestead millage. The text of the proposal reads as follows:
Incumbent Lenox Township supervisor challenged in primary
Incumbent Lenox Township Supervisor Anthony Reeder Jr. is facing opposition in the Aug. 6 primary election. Reeder, a Republican, is being challenged by Scott Clifford, a Republican and current township trustee. The winner will advance to compete with Democrat Aaron Scott Bowdich for the supervisor seat in the fall general election.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Shelby Township SummerFest featured tons of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy June 28-29 at the Shelby Township municipal campus.
