    About 41,418 gallons of wastewater flow through storm drain to New Bern creek

    NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) — The City of New Bern had what is believed to be 41,418 gallons of wastewater discharge into Renny’s Creek through a storm drain on July 21.

    The overflow of wastewater is due to influent pumps at the Wastewater Treatment Plant becoming disabled, leading the water to rush out of a manhole on Trappers Trail.

    The NC Division of Water Resources was made of aware of the incident the day that it happened.
