    Motorcycle crash in Forest County leaves one dead

    FOREST COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A New Bethlehem man was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash Sunday, June 16.

    William Smead III, 26, was involved in a motorcycle crash on State Route 66 in Forest County, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Smead was traveling around a curve at what troopers described as a high rate of speed and the motorcycle, a Honda, was turned on its side.

    Smead and the motorcycle traveled 54 feet, striking a concrete island. Troopers noted that Smead’s helmet was used improperly.

    He was pronounced dead at the scene by Forest County Coronet Norman Wymer.
