Bogues Shines At US Olympic Trials
DAYTON – University of Dayton student athlete Casey Bogues competed this past weekend in the 2024 US Olympic trials in Oregon. Competing against the top American athletes in her field event, the junior set a personal best and showed that she belonged on the big stage. She placed fourth in qualifying after day one and eighth on the final day. Her new PR of 57.41 shattered her own previous school record.

Captains fall to Dragons, 6-5, in 10 innings
Visiting Dayton scored all of its runs in the ninth and 10th innings, then held off a Captains’ rally in the bottom of the 10th to win, 6-5, on July 4 at Classic Park. Lake County (47-31) took a 3-0 lead in the eighth inning on an RBI double by Jose Devers and a two-run home run by Maick Collado.
Mike Wilder notches career win 9,000 at The Meadows
Washington, PA — Mike Wilder collected career win 9,000 when he captured Wednesday’s (July 3) 10th race at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows with Distant Drums. A native of Springfield, Ohio, Wilder launched his harness racing career at the age of 14, driving matinees and working for the small stable of his stepfather, Dave Ritter. Ironically, Ritter exited the business just as Wilder was deciding to make it his career, signing on as caretaker for the stable of Randy Owens and later, Virgil Morgan, Jr. He was itching to make it as a driver, but early on, assignments were hard to come by.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) - On Tuesday, Blackhawk Christian forward Kellen Pickett took to his social media to announce he has committed to playing basketball at Wright State. The 6'9 big man had a standout junior season averaging 20.5 points, 11.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 3.8 blocks per game.
Riverside tops Graham, Bellefontaine in Acme sectional baseball tournament
Riverside’s Acme baseball team won its first two Acme sectional tournament games over the weekend, defeating Graham 10-4 on Saturday and beating Bellefontaine 8-3 on Sunday. In the win over Graham, Landon Purtee earned the complete game victory on the mound for the Pirates. He allowed seven hits, struck out 11 and did not allow an earned run. Offensively for the the Pirates, Aiden Manning had three hits and three RBI and Gavin Orsborne had two hits, including a triple, and an RBI. Cooper Crouch added two hits and an RBI.
PJ Hubert Named Associate Athletic Director for Executive Affairs
DAYTON -- The University of Dayton has appointed PJ Hubert as Associate Athletic Director for Executive Affairs, effective July 16, 2024. Hubert, 32, will report directly to Vice President and Director of Athletics Neil Sullivan and will serve as a member of the Athletics Division's executive team. He will support the cross-functional capability of the Vice-President and Director of Athletics office among the various direct reports, committees, constituents and functions with an intentional focus on basketball and high-impact sports.
